Earlier today I was able to capture a vibrantly aesthetic mix simultaneously broadcasted on INSTAGRAM and TWITCH from Bronx’s Finest DJ FIRST CHOICE 🎤🎧🏆🥇 Choice’s love for music is evident within each nuance of transition playing records ranging from Sade’s “Ordinary Love ❤️”, Lil Baby’s “We Paid” to Buju Banton’s “Champion” . “First Choice” has proven his dynamically versatile ear in music over a decade which is arguably UNMATCHED. Choice’s Jamaican roots marinated with the grit of NYC’s Bronx jungle concrete is HIP HOP’s recipe to perfection. As explained in a Drink Champs episode starring legendary Busta Rhymes he explains HIP HOP’s essence derives from the likes of Jamaican native Dj Kool Herc; therefore Caribbean’s DESERVE the utmost recognition amongst “The Origin Of” conversations.
“DJ FIRST CHOICE”, Power 1051’s own, we are here to recognize you today on PYCR’S #TasteMakerTuesdays🌹 Thank you for the committed dedication you serve uplifting the culture even throughout a PANDEMIC. You are a brother of the platform. We’ve been honored to witness your evolution as a teenage DJ digging through crates on Cardinal Spellman’s auditorium stage preparing for the “African American Show” to shutting almost every club down in NYC alongside Dj Clue, Dj Envy, providing tunes for Angie Martinez’ barbecues and presenting us with “Choice Airwaves” via the infamous “Panic Room”. It’s the evolution for me‼️✨🎧💪🏾🌊
Are we supporting our DJ’s (the glue of HIP HOP) every way we can during this pandemic ⁉️ At this point are we anticipating a “DJ FIRST CHOICE” album with some of our favorite artists ⁉️ Let the convos begin 🗣
